A mother's blog: growing with my son!
A big hello! to the world of brand-new parents, would-be parents and other interested people
…. This is Vandy (Vandana, the mommy) and Sam (Samarth, the son) trying to share their day-to-day happenings with everyone out there.
Sam’s identity was known to us on 26th November (no, that’s not his b’day; but the day it was confirmed) and he literally came with a BANG!, as it was the tragic day for Mumbai, for it witnessed that fatal terrorist-attack….. This is the law of nature…. somewhere it was dark and gloomy and somewhere it brought the brightest ray of hope ….. and then came a sense of relief (from ongoing trials to have a baby), ecstasy (to have crossed another milestone), fear (this being the second time after a miscarriage), responsibility (towards a new role) and above all curiosity (to nurture a new life within me! )
After all those eight and a half months of wait, we could finally ‘hold’ Samarth! What a moment of bliss that was…. I saw the doctor cleaning him and he turned his face towards me, trying to open his small eyes… his first glance at his mo
m …. all the pain was gone and all the suffering worth that million dollar gaze of my baby
Now it’s been 7 beautiful weeks with him and life has surely changed for better.. He keeps us busy for 23 hrs and 59 minutes, but that one moment of smile on his face makes up for all the fatigue and tiredness …It’s surely a state of bliss that we are in right now and hope to enjoy perenting as an experience worth living for !
This blog is born out of the need to share what we, as first time parents, are going through in bringing up our 'bundle of joy'. Parenting is the most difficult art that one perfects over a period of time.. So here we are trying to put across our experiences which are gained while practising this art... whatever is written here, doesn't prescribe anything. It's just a log of our daily happenings which we want to share with all of you... nothing official about it!
